The Youth quake had three main influences in the 1960's, Musical, Political, and Fashion.
Musical influence consisted of band's like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Searchers and The Hollies. The Beatles of course had the greatest success in America and Canada breaking in with their hit "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and had their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show February 9 in the mid 1960's. After The Beatles went on the Ed Sullivan Show more British artists and bands stared becoming popular in America starting the British Invasion.
The way the youth quake influenced politics was by basically creating hippies. The whole idea of people want peace and thinking we can all get along and love each other man, and live in perfect harmony with nature affected politics. People became more involved if they didn't agree with something the Government was doing like the Vietnam war for example, lots and lots of hippies were against this and decided to show this by protest and having peace rally's.
Now I don't really know a lot about fashion, but from my research I have come to the conclusion that the youth quake influenced the fashion industry by giving us mini skirts and jumpsuits, yay? Anyways also with fashion magazines it started to develop our culture where girls and boys see famous people who are 'good looking' and we are supposed to strive to look like them; which is really stupid.
